Walk Between
Copyright 2003 by Jon Gill

Hopping along a rabbit trail
Hoping at long last that this tail
This tale, this time, would try to rhyme
Two hearts to intertwine.
The road is long, and few are they
Who travel on to the end of days
Who tarry, straight, content to wait
For direction divine.

So come, dear Lord, Your light we need
Walk with us, Lord, for if you lead
We値l follow, Lord, your way unseen
But only if you walk between.

Distractions come so easily
Drawn to things so measly
To forego the fight, we avoid the light
That illuminates our sight.
We want to see that corner there
And wonder when, and wonder where
And how we値l go, and when we値l know
The maybes and the mights.

(Chorus)

Let our heads turn not around
Let our ears not hear a sound
That from your lips did not begin -
Lead us Lord away from sin.
Strengthen us and our weakened minds
Be the treasure that we値l find
Hold our hands; on You we値l lean
For our sake You will walk between.
