Love Sonnet #4
Copyright 2006 by Jon Gill

My love's eyes are fairer than the rest
Fair enough to stop the turning earth!
And overpowering time and time's great test
She looks at me with squinted, giddy mirth;
A smile, a laugh, and sunbeams burst on through,
A kiss, and all the clouds are out of sight!
A touch, and my whole lifetime starts anew,
A long embrace becomes like Heaven's light!
What love gives radiant strength to this allure?
For my few words cannot effect a shout
What source of streams does feed your flow so pure,
A beauty true when others are in drought?
      Though my love flows to you at steady pace,
      It is His love that sparkles from your face.
