Skiing Uphill
Copyright 2000 by Jon Gill
As I was sliding on my new-waxed skis
A thought came to my mind
My view from above so quickly leaves
And the peak is far behind
The further down that I descend
The faster I will go
When I come around the final bend
I’m at my ultimate low
If the sky’s the limit for our dreams
Why do we start at the top?
It’s all downhill from here it seems
And it’s always so hard to stop
I want to end up at the peak
With a mountain under my feet
The picture there is not so bleak
And the view there can’t be beat!
Lift me above the highest peak
Where I can see what you see
It’s your perspective that I seek
Uphill’s how I want to ski!
