Pursuit of a Lifetime
Copyright 1999 by Jon Gill
Chapter 1:
Here I've been wandering for so many years
Walking in circles around my puddle of tears
Am I looking for you or someone else
And how will I know unless someone tells me?
Where did you come from and why are you here?
Are you what I need to be rid of this fear?
So many questions, my mind breaks down
The world becomes dark as I fall to the ground
Chapter 2:
But I still look to see you
Are you anywhere?
My eyes cannot accustom to the dark
Where are you?
I wander aimlessly, on my knees
Whose throne do I seek?
The road is long and hopeless
And I am so weak...
Chapter 3:
But you pursue me
Like the loving shepherd you are
You find me
Cradle me in your arms
Carry me back to the pasture
Protect me from harm
Protect me from all harm, in your arms
Chapter 4/Epilogue:
I want to run with you
I want to be with you
Everywhere you go
Everywhere you go
Love you like you love me
Pursue you like you pursued me
Everywhere you go
Everywhere you go.
