Madam I'm Adam
Copyright 2001 by Jon Gill

(Verse 1)
I wish I had something to say
To write a poem or sing a song
But I haven’t practiced lately
What I’ve been preaching all along
One foot in and one foot on
The solid ground I need
I don’t know what pulls me back
Thoughtless words or evil deeds

(Chorus)
Madam, I’m Adam
And unfortunately
A sin is a
Sin is
A sin is a
Circular curse of reality

(Verse 2)
Will I choose to trust your perfect will
Or will I trust my choice?
Every time I do the latter
My enemies rejoice.
But because you are my strength and hope
You will be the cause to hope for strength
Please lengthen my fraying thread of faith
To thread faith into great lengths.

(Bridge)
Before you try to
Be four things at once
Adore Jesus and
A door will open up
The words of play, the play on words
Come as naturally as sinful nature
Mistake is a misnomer for rebellion
An immoral nomenclature.

(Chorus)
