I grew up with you as a friend
But you weren’t always on my mind
We did a few things way back then
But I never knew you were so kind

Makes me wonder why I waited
Makes me regret my attitude
I did all that I should have hated
I loved you according to my mood

Finally I’m back on track
I’m getting to know you now
I suddenly see what I lack
I want to live and you show me how

As I know you more and more
I come to know myself
You’re what I was created for
Your rod and staff are my help.
