First time here?
Here's some things to get you started at jonathangill.net! This site, currently my only personal website, was originally started in October 2002 for the sole purpose of having a place that people could view my poetry. I started adding pictures, jokes, trivia, goofy stuff, informational stuff, and updates, and before too long it had developed into a site with over 300 pages! Who knows how many I have today - I have so many that a complete cosmetic overhaul of this site would require starting over from scratch. I taught myself the simple html you see on this site, and anything more complicated was either stolen or written by nerd friends of mine (thanks Chris and Dale!). Anyway, suffice it to say that you could spend hours here, so if you have the time, here's the things I recommend you check out first:

Pictures!
Picture Index Page: I have pictures of me, my family, my wife Brenda, my friends, and many from my travels (inlcuding Iraq '03 and '05-'06).

Writings!
Rather than digging your way through all of my 130+ poems, check out my own
Handpicked Best Poems - my "top 24", if you will. I also have explanations for every one of my poems:
The Meaning Of Et Al.
Also check out poetry and stories by other people in two different places:
Book 7: Poems I Didn't Write - this is just a personal compilation of poetry by friends, family, and famous people.
Book 8: The Writer's Forum - this is something I have put together so that anyone who wants to send me their work can have it posted on this site (if I approve of it, of course). It's also the place I put stuff that's not poetry, like the few stories that are there.

Silliness!
A few of my favorite nonsensical things on the site include:
Road Signs - a collection of silly signs: some real, some fake, all crazy!
Montypython.txt - the complete script (in text file) of Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail, one of the greatest movies of our time. Also available in Microsoft Word format for download.

Brain Food!
Most people tell me that they can't hang around me without learning something, even if that something is kinda pointless. I proved everyone right by including these things:
Trivia - everything you never wanted to know about everything. This section will probably grow when I finally collect "round two".
The Greek Alphabet - a break-down of the Greek alphabet and it's pronunciations. Soon I will also be adding the Hebrew and Arabic alphabets, once I figure out how to make the symbols.
Wuzzles - picture-word puzzles taken from the Mensa website. Mensa said I was smart enough to join, but I didn't because you have to pay dues. I guess I'm just too smart to pay dues. (ha!)

So that's the highlights of the site, though more is added regularly. All the new updates and news can be read in the
News section. Enjoy your navigating!
