Tethered Blossoms
Copyright 2002 by Jerry Gill
Tethered blossoms of creativity, languishing behind the harsh and hard facade of everyday work,
Waiting for their moment to spring into beauty and admiration,
Tense moments of patient suffering at the hands of one whose passion has diminished in favor of money and security.
Windows of insight race by the vision of the waking, caught now only in a peripheral way,
A sideways glance at eternity is all they warrant, as pieces of the current take shape instead.
It is vanity, yet consuming to press the bitter flowers of life into the pages of a busy life,
Leaving them flattened and forgotten until some strange chance moment,
Opens the book of life again to that page and it begins all over again.
To take the streaming power of divine inspiration and send it racing forth to the minds of the masses,
With a passion and a purpose that begs no equal among the everyday and mundane,
This is my task and worthy of all that I can give or receive.
To this end I commit my soul and my desire. So be it Lord!
