North Atlantic
Copyright 2002 by Jon Gill
I remember a life in the sun
Piņa coladas, surfing, and fun
The sky was blue and never grew hazy
And inside I knew I was getting lazy
I wanted the Bahamas
But the sunscreen is making me sick
For it takes a real man
To sail the North Atlantic.
Anyone can get a tan
And watch a monkey's antics
But it takes a real man
To sail the North Atlantic.
There are three things too amazing for me
Four that I do not understand
An eagle, a snake, and a ship in the sea
And the way of a maiden and a man.
An eagle is free, a snake is unbothered
But this ship in this sea is taking on water
The adventure of you is a wind-weathered test
And I know that my sailing it brings me the best
The weather is storming, the waves are frightening
But the sun was so boring, there was nothing exciting
Forget the Bahamas, and onward I sail
My Author is writing a far greater tale!
I wanted the Bahamas
But the sunburn was making me sick
And it takes a real man
To sail the North Atlantic.
Anyone can get a tan
And watch a monkey's antics
But it takes a real man
To sail the North Atlantic.
