A Light Unto My Path
Copyright 2000 by Jon Gill

(Verse 1)
When I stub my toe
Walking in the dark
Know I where to go,
Or which voice to hark?
So often I'm alone
Without Your light
I should have known
Your way was always right

(Chorus)
I'm stumbling and I'm crying out
Falling down, I can't figure out
This pain.
Running in circles backwards to
Find once again that you
Are always the same,
You're always the same.

(Verse 2)
I've skinned my knee
Crying I run to Thee
A Band-Aid and a kiss
And nothing more's amiss
Such a child am I
I can't understand why
Is it because I think I know
And won't allow myself to grow?

(Bridge)
But Thy word is a lamp unto my feet
And a light unto my path
A map unto my brain
And a healing for the pain
Now I know I'll never know unless I ask.

(Chorus)
